Privacy Policy
The short version: we collect what we need to connect you with the person on the other side of a job, take payment, and keep the platform safe. We do not sell your information.
The rest of this page is the detail — what we hold, who processes it, and what you can ask us to do about it.
1. Who we are
FixlyPros is operated by Kemp Tech, LLC, doing business as FixlyPros (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the FixlyPros website and the connected applications you use to book services, take work, manage earnings, and message the person on the other side of a job.
It applies whether you use FixlyPros as a customer, as a service provider, or both.
2. Information you give us
When you create an account: your name, email address, and password. If you sign in through a third party, we receive your name and email from them rather than a password.
When you book a service: the service address, details and notes about the job, and any photos you attach. The address is necessary — it is how providers know whether a job is in their area.
When you apply to provide services: business details, contact information, service areas, and identity and business documents such as a driver’s license, insurance certificate, or business registration. See automated document review for how these are checked.
When you pay or get paid: payment details are entered directly with our payment processor and are not stored on our servers. We keep a record of the amount, its status, and the last four digits and card type where the processor returns them.
When you message someone: the content of messages and any images sent through FixlyPros.
When you leave feedback: ratings and written reviews, which are visible to the provider and may be shown publicly.
When you contact support: whatever you choose to tell us.
3. Information we collect automatically
- Session and device information — enough to keep you signed in and to keep your account secure.
- Usage data — pages visited and general interaction data, used in aggregate to understand what people need from the product.
- Approximate location from an address you enter. When you give a service address, we convert it to coordinates so providers can see distance. We do not track your device’s live location.
- Referral link data. If you arrive through a partner’s referral link or QR code, we record the visit, including a truncated IP address — shortened so it does not identify an individual device — and whether the request appeared to come from an automated crawler.
4. How we use your information
- To operate the service: creating jobs, matching them to providers, taking payment, paying providers, and letting the two sides communicate.
- To verify that providers are who they say they are, and that their credentials are valid.
- To send you messages you would expect — job updates, receipts, and account notices. These are part of the service rather than marketing, and are not optional while your account is active.
- To keep the platform safe: preventing fraud, enforcing our Terms of Service, and investigating abuse.
- To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
- To improve the product, using aggregated data.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising.
5. Automated document review
Provider documents are reviewed by an automated system before a person sees them. If you apply to provide services, this section applies to you. It does not apply to customers.
When you upload identity or business documents during onboarding, we use a third-party AI service to read them and check that the document is valid, is the type it claims to be, and that the business name and identification numbers on it match what you told us. We also compare identifiers extracted from documents against those of previously removed providers, to stop a barred account being recreated under a new name.
An automated check does not decide your application on its own. It flags documents for a person to review, and a human makes the approval decision. If your application is declined and you believe a document was misread, contact us and we will look at it directly.
6. What other users can see
FixlyPros connects two sides of a job, so some information is shared between them by design:
- Providers browsing available work see the service requested, the notes and photos attached, and the approximate area — not your full address, and not your contact details.
- Once a provider accepts your job, they receive the full service address and can message you. This is necessary for them to do the work.
- Customers see a provider’s business name, service areas, ratings, and reviews. They do not see the provider’s identity documents, personal address, or financial details.
- Reviews you write may be displayed publicly alongside the provider’s profile.
- Growth partners never receive personal information about the people they refer. They see counts and totals only.
7. Who processes data for us
We use a small number of service providers to run the platform. They may only use your information to provide their service to us.
| Service | What it handles |
|---|---|
| Stripe | Card and bank payments, provider payout accounts, and tax forms. Stripe collects payment and tax details directly and we do not store them. |
| Amazon Web Services | Storage of uploaded images and documents. |
| Neon | The database holding your account and job records. |
| Vercel | Hosting the website and applications, and aggregate usage analytics. |
| Mapbox | Converting service addresses into map coordinates and displaying maps. |
| Anthropic | The automated document review described above. Provider documents only. |
| Email delivery | Sending account, job, and receipt emails. |
| Messaging service | Delivering messages between customers and providers in real time. |
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights and safety of users — and to a successor if the business is acquired, in which case this policy continues to apply until you are told otherwise.
8. Cookies
We use cookies for a small number of specific jobs:
- Signing you in. A session cookie keeps you logged in. Without it the service does not work.
- Remembering interface state, such as whether you have the chat panel open.
- Referral attribution. If you arrive through a partner’s link, a cookie records which link for up to 90 days, so the partner is credited if you create an account. It holds a reference to that visit, not information about you.
You can block cookies in your browser, but you will not be able to sign in without the session cookie.
9. How long we keep things
- Account and job records are kept while your account is open, and afterwards where we need them for tax, accounting, dispute, or legal reasons.
- Payment and payout records are kept for the period tax law requires.
- Messages are kept for the life of the conversation and the job it relates to.
- Provider documents are kept while the provider is active and for as long as needed afterwards to prevent a removed account being recreated.
10. Your choices and rights
You can:
- See and correct most of your information directly in your account.
- Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Ask us to delete your account. We will do so except where we are required to keep records — completed jobs, payments, and tax records in particular.
- Block another user, which stops them contacting you and stops them being matched with you.
- Opt out of non-essential email. Job and account messages are part of the service and continue while your account is open.
Depending on where you live you may have additional rights over your personal information. To exercise any of the above, email support@fixlypros.app. We may need to verify your identity first.
11. Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Payment details are handled by our payment processor and never reach our servers. Uploaded files are stored privately and served through short-lived links rather than public URLs. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — but if a breach affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.
12. Children
FixlyPros is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will tell you before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when this version was published.
14. Contact us
